Clock actually runs, i’m just not sure if it runs correctly. Pendulum swing stops eventually and not sure how to make the time right. But it does run and keeps a steady tick at the right angle when it’s properly positioned. Missing the suspension spring and leader, that’s why the pendulum stops swinging on it’s own.

Marine-style clocks such as this were designed around highly legible dials and robust mechanical construction. What makes this example particularly desirable is the combination of the large brass porthole-style case and separate external bell, a configuration considerably more visually striking than ordinary Seth Thomas mantel and wall clocks.
