This is one of Seth Thomas’s Sonora chime clocks with the adamantine case, and 8 day movement. Cosmetically it’s very good with a some blackened corner dings and maybe a scuff or two, but nothing to point out specifically. Mechanically the clock is mostly untested. Both movements were wound and it was allowed to run while it was being listed. It chimes when the hands were cycled. This is a rare clock and not a run of the mill Sonora. It’s priced to sell so don’t miss it!

This Seth Thomas Mantle Clock features a dark mahogany finish and is designed in the tambour or “napoleon hat” style. Clock is 16.25″ wide at base and 9″ tall. Working condition when wound up. (See videos) Just not sure if the number of “dongs” is correct. It is likely from the early 1900s to 1920s and may have an 8-day mechanical movement. Clock actually runs, i’m just not sure if it runs correctly. Pendulum swing stops eventually and not sure how to make the time right. But it does run and keeps a steady tick at the right angle when it’s properly positioned. Missing the suspension spring and leader, that’s why the pendulum stops swinging on it’s own.

It’s ticking (maybe just a little fast) with a light push to the pendulum and the bell dings too. No wind up key included.
