This clock features a solid brass 8-day movement stamped. Thomas – Plymouth, Conn. A hallmark of authentic 19th-century American clockmaking. The clock has a paper Roman numeral dial with original hand-decorated corner details and a spiral steel gong strike, producing a classic deep chime. The wooden case retains its original black finish with contrasting inner molding. The lower glass reveals the original Victorian floral decorative paper backing, which shows age-appropriate wear and a small tear (see photos), consistent with an untouched antique piece. Nice nautical set in good working condition. Note, clock back is missing the small screws that hold it on if removed from board. This clock measures approximately 8.25″ from end to end and side to side and 3″ in depth. I do not know how to test this clock.
