This clock is a nice condition “Adamantine” finish 8 day time and strike mantle clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. In Thomaston, Connecticut, USA in 1896. This clock features the original signed Seth Thomas 8 day time and strike movement, which has been cleaned/serviced and is in good running condition, keeping time and striking properly, counting the hour, i. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc. On an antique cathedral gong, and announcing the half hour with a single toll. It is a quality movement that, if properly maintained, should last many lifetimes. This is a classically styled late 1800’s model with a simulated black and tan french marble finish, paw feet, solid brass molded columns and solid brass lion’s heads on either side. The “Adamantine” finish, which is a patented laminate finish from the late 1800’s, is in very good shape for its age. The finish is age stained with a few minor dings, but other than that it is in very nice condition and very nice looking. The measurements are 16 ½” wide x 11″ high x 7 deep. It has a nice condition solid brass dial and solid brass bezel with the original hands. This clock comes complete with the key and an original pendulum and is ready to place up on the mantle and enjoy. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience.
