Seth Thomas School Pillar & Scroll Clock, Reverse Painted Panel
Vintage Seth Thomas School Pillar & Scroll Mantle Clock, Reverse Painted Panel. A vintage Seth Thomas pillar and scroll mantle clock, produced in the mid-20th century. This handsome timepiece is crafted from mahogany and faithfully reproduces the iconic American Federal style. The case features a classic scrolled pediment crest, adorned with three turned finials. The upper panel reveals a clean white dial with Roman numerals and ornate black hands, framed by delicate gilt spandrels. The lower panel is a highlight, featuring a vibrant reverse-painted tablet, or églomisé panel. This hand-painted scene depicts a garland of red roses surrounding a clear bullseye window for viewing the swinging brass pendulum. Opening the case reveals the brass movement and pendulum.
