This clock probably started out in a commercial/industrial environment probably as a master clock or control center as the sophisticated lock on the door is unusual. After it became obsolete it was probably converted to its current configuration. It was in rough shape and looked like it had been stored in a barn for many years, but I bought anyway it because besides the calendar movement and dial it was complete and undamaged. This is a substantial and visually striking marine-themed desk or shipboard instrument grouping, presented on a solid base. This particular set was gifted to Commander Robert M. Murdock of the AP Detroit Power Squadron, adding notable provenance connected to an established American boating organization. Barometer: Seth Thomas Model 1508 Weather Barometer. Base Length: Approximately 19.25. Total Weight: Approximately 8 lbs 14 oz. Clock is not currently tested, as the original winding key is not included. Both wheel assemblies show some looseness and will likely require tightening or adjustment. Overall presents well with expected age-related wear.
