This has been professionally restored. The battery operated action in the back had to be replaced because it was not repairable. This clock has a patina and wear on the face. He cleaned as best he could without removing any of the printing on the front there is some pitting on the face that you can feel when you run your fingers over it. SETH THOMAS CLOCK WITH THE ADAMANTINE FINISH WHICH WAS A LAMINATE OR PLASTIC THAT CAN TAKE A VERY HIGH SHINE. IT IS VERY DURABLE AND CLOCKS WITH THIS FINISH USUALLY LOOK AS GOOD AS THE DAY THEY WERE MADE ABOUT 100 YEARS AGO. IT HAS A GREAT LABEL ON THE BACK. IT WAS SERVICED AND AT LEAST ONE BUSHING PLACED. IT IS RUNNING AND STRIKING WELL. AS THE STORY GOES, ONLY SETH THOMAS KNEW THE FORMULA FOR THE ADAMANTINE FINISH. SO, HE INVENTED PLASTIC MANY YEARS PRIOR TO IT’S INTRODUCTION. You are looking at a beautiful Seth Thomas clock. It works, but not sure if it keeps perfect time and the chimes seem to be out of whack. There are some blemishes on the wood that I have pictured. The face does seem to be a little loose. The paper on the inside bottom reads “1913”. PLEASE LLOOK CAREFULLY AT ALL 21 PICTURES AS PART OF THE DESCRIPTION AND TO DETERMINE THE ACTUAL CONDITION.
