This clock features a solid brass 8-day movement stamped. Thomas – Plymouth, Conn. A hallmark of authentic 19th-century American clockmaking. The clock has a paper Roman numeral dial with original hand-decorated corner details and a spiral steel gong strike, producing a classic deep chime. The wooden case retains its original black finish with contrasting inner molding. The lower glass reveals the original Victorian floral decorative paper backing, which shows age-appropriate wear and a small tear (see photos), consistent with an untouched antique piece.
