This Seth Thomas Mantle Clock features a dark mahogany finish and is designed in the tambour or “napoleon hat” style. Clock is 16.25″ wide at base and 9″ tall. Working condition when wound up. (See videos) Just not sure if the number of “dongs” is correct. It is likely from the early 1900s to 1920s and may have an 8-day mechanical movement. Similar models often feature time-and-strike functionality, though they may require a winding key to operate. This Seth Thomas Chicago Shelf clock is in excellent condition. The clock’s exterior has been beautifully restored and looks excellent. The only issue is that when the door closes and is locked, there is a gap at the top of the clock (See HD pictures). We attempted multiple adjustments to fix this, but we were unsuccessful. The clock would have been made around the late 1800s. The movement has been properly cleaned and oiled and keeps very good time. The clock chimes on the hour.
