Seth Thomas antique original mantel clock movement stamped 89C. Movement has been disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned. Springs cleaned fresh oil and grease. Movement has had 4 new bushings installed. Arbor to arbor 3 1/8. Arbor to center shaft 2 inches. Center shaft to f/s adjustment 3/4. Strikes the hour on a gong. Half hour on a brass bell. Will come with suspension rod, pendulum and key. These are very delicate time pieces, i level them in my test stand and adjust the beat. Beyond rare and hard to find alone is a set of early original Seth Thomas urn style finials. These came off an early on the Seth Thomas Pillar and Scroll clocks just after their earliest wood finials, 1820’s. The base and spiral style top are turned cast brass. Bowels are two piece spun brass. The steel posts are just under 1/8 dia. With just a few threads on the top of the rods. They show some rust and tarnish which they should for their age. The clock is in excellent condition, runs well (see video), and includes a key (the key is not original to the clock). Per the photos, there are negligible marks/dents to the clock from age/use. This Seth Thomas Mantle clock dates to around 1920 and was made in the United States of America. Original 89 movement has been completely overhauled and is in working condition. Movement taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned, repairs made as needed, new springs installed, lubricated and tested. Includes key and pendulum. Cabinet is the original Adamantine / Mahogany finish.
