Up for sale is this very Rare Antique Seth Thomas Pilot House Ships Clock Case with Stand and over 8 diameter Dial. Lots of wear and issues both to the brass and wood. This is a full on restoration project. The case isnt true round near the door hinge, so the dial wont sit in there and the door doesnt close and latch. There maybe some warping to the backboard or maybe its just loosening of the stand as a hole as the back of the case doesnt rest completely flush against it, it pulls a bit away as you go higher. An old Seth Thomas calendar clock. The movement has been oiled and is in good running condition. I don’t think the case has been stripped, but it looks like someone clean, revived the finish sometime ago. The dial paint has some cracking, scratches, marks, etc. There is missing paint by the 25 and 30. There is some glazing missing around the inside of the bezel. The hinge has been soldered and has a little play in it. The bezel and calendar hand has been painted gold. Measures 23 3/4” tall and 16” wide. A key is included. This is a Seth Thomas Pendulum “School Room” Oak Clock. The Oak wood on this clock is as nice as it gets. No marks no scratches or dents. Clock glass is perfect and opens and closes easy with sturdy hinges. Dial is in OK condition and would look better with a little cleaning I did not want to try. Winds and runs good. Has most of the label on the back. Measures 18″ x 12″. I have a master key for winding clocks but this clock does not come with a key. US Coast Guard 6 inch black dial clock. Model 117 movement was manufactured during World War 2 to compete with Chelsea’s model “F” movement. It bears more than a resemblance to the Chelsea version. In the upside down or “pilot house” configuration. Just fully overhauled, the direct train escapement movement looks like it just came off the production line. The original dial is excellent. The hands have been repainted at some point and are getting worn. Running and keeping excellent time. Comes with a key.
