This is a beautiful antique Seth Thomas 8-Day Mantel/Shelf Clock. It is a crystal Regulator clock. The face is marked Made by Seth Thomas in U. On the back of the clock works is marked’ST’ -‘U. The double barrel pendulum is not filled with mercury. The clock in excellent vintage condition, i. T runs and keeps time nicely, and chimes beautifully. The brass case is in good antique condition, no chips, no cracks, no damage. The four beveled glass panels are in good condition. The face is in good condition with some stains. Here is a handsome American crystal regulator repair project with dial marked Gilbert but movement clearly marked Seth Thomas. Probably an old and clumsy attempt at restoring a crystal regulator. At any rate, here it is in as found condition, with good springs running but out beat and has to be tipped out of level, and rear glass has crack at top left as pictured. Could be a nice clock with correct movement and dial. Please see photos for condition.
