The are slight wear areas in wood base edges, rear top corner on one side and separation at bottom wood front (see pictures). We are not expert in antique clocks and would suggest a clean and oil as well as inspection by a professional antique clock maker jeweler restorer. I tested it and everything worked great for 3 weeks, and then one day when it did the hour gong, it didn’t stop gonging until it ran out of wind. If you wind up the gong, when it gets to the hour, it gongs until it runs out of wind. I think oil must have gotten somewhere it wasn’t supposed to get. This is an antique Seth Thomas Chime Clock from around 1915 with the 89AD movement. This double strike clock appears to be intact and fully operational. It winds, runs, and chimes, but please NOTE: It is from an estate therefore it cannot be guaranteed to work without some cleaning and light restoration. The original finish shows some age-appropriate crazing. Otherwise, there is no mold, or untoward smells or appearances. There are a couple of of blemishes on the rim of the face. 100% genuine, is fully functional, works great and chimes perfectly. I’ve had it running for about 4 days and it is keeping impeccable time and is chiming perfectly. Very beautiful clock that has been well cared for and maintained over time. Features a 5 hammer chime movement made in West Germany. Measures approx 14 1/2 inches in total height, 10 1/2 inches from side to side and 7 inches from front to back. The clock has no cracks or broken pieces. Very minor wear on the wooden carriage/case.
