This is a very nice 1908 Seth Thomas Long-alarm clock mounted in a beautiful, rare brass case. I have had this clock for years and have never seen one in a case like this one! The clock has been serviced and runs and operates perfectly. The movement shows little or no visible wear. It runs for 8-days on a wind. These clocks do not chime the hour, but have a very long lasting, loud alarm that rings on a bell and will go for about 45 minutes unless you shut it off. Wonderful antique Seth Thomas wall clock, in simple yet elegant solid oak case. Large size, measures 19 x 23″ overall, with a 12″ diameter face. This clock has been converted to run on a battery, so no more daily winding! We have had it hung and running for days, keeps perfect time. This is a Seth Thomas 6 diameter Navy Marine deck clock in the original Bakelite case. Clock displays white Arabic numeral 12 hour markers inside the chapter ring plus separate seconds dial. The clock is signed below center arbor and centered below an “N” inside of a circle (Naval Observatory cartouche) with Observatory number 36014, 1942. Outside the chapter ring below the 6 is marked Made By Seth Thomas In US. Clocks steel hands appear to be in original condition and with original white painted finish.
