A 19th-century Seth Thomas shelf clock. 8-day spring driven time and strike Brass Lyre movement with painted metal dial and Roman numerals. Rosewood case with Gilded detail features a molded cornice, a single long door with clear glasses, turned columns, and a stepped molded base. Plymouth Hollow label 50% intact. Older finish with minor wear, dial re-painted, running when cataloged. Beautiful clock in great condition for its age and obvious use. Still chimes with that big, deep, melodious Seth Thomas bell sound! Yes, the original label inside the case is faintly readable and provides instructions on how to keep it in order. Probably easier in our 21st century time is to just take it to a professional clock maker for cleaning, oiling, balancing, and any other repairs as needed.
