Seth Thomas Adamantine Shelf or Mantel Clock Hour Half Hour Strike Dated C18XX

Vintage Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantel Clock – Item number 49395-4. Red Adamantine case and cleaned and buffed to a mirror finish. Solid brass bezel not overly polished to show its age. All matching original hardware – Original feet – Added surface protection to the feet. Clock case has not been altered in any way from the original. Case is ready to accept an original mechanical movement if you prefer (alignment will be necessary). Clock does have a manufacture month/date March (C) 18XX – See last photo. Clock been fitted with the most advanced quartz movement on the market with a strike similar to a cathedral gong. Gong – Strikes the hours and single strike on the half hour – This is the original mechanical movement sequence. Has 4 additional sequences. Westminster chimes 4/4 and strikes the hour. Ave Maria chimes 4/4 and strikes the hour. Westminster on the hour only chime & strike. Bim Bam strike on the hour only. Night shut-off from 11pm to 6am or, 24 hour strike, or Shut off for no chime at all. Hardware was cleaned but not overly buffed. Spade hands to match the original. Brass bezel with new paper dial and original glass. Front dial face has decorative winding arbors to simulate the look of a mechanical movement. Clock has been completely dis-assembled, cleaned of all tobacco and residue, buffed and polished, re-assembled. Operation has been tested for a minimum 30 days. While the case is in excellent condition, there are flaws to the adamantine veneer – It is not perfect after 130 years. Very elegant piece with rich sound. Smaller clock for a mantel or shelf area. Measures 10″ wide x 5 3/4″ deep x 9 1/2 high.
