It has the simulated dark walnut Adamantine finish that was very popular during the early 1900’s. This clock features the original and scarce to find dual chime signed Seth Thomas # 89 movement, which is in good running condition, keeping time and striking properly, counting the hour, i. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc. And announcing the half hour with a single gong. It is a super quality movement that, if properly maintained, should last indefinitely. Seth Thomas didn’t make many dual chime clocks with diagonal chime rods, so for the Seth Thomas collector, a rather nice clock to own. The original silvered dial is nicely aged, giving it a genuine antique appearance. The “Adamantine” finish, which is a patented laminate finish from the late 1800’s, is in good shape for its age. It is a thin celluloid type laminate over soft wood, and so shrinks, cracks and dents fairly easily with just normal use over time. This collectible clock comes complete with a key and pendulum and is ready to place up on the mantle and enjoy. The measurements are 16 ¼” wide x 9 ¾” high x 6 deep.
