Antique Seth Thomas #1 Wall Clock For Parts Or Restoration

As found – for parts or restoration. Dimensions: 33.5 in x 15.5 in x 5.5 in. 1860’s Seth Thomas Clock Co. 1 clock with an 8 day time only movement. The clock has the original unsigned 8 day rectangular movement measuring 4 – 1/4″ tall by 2 – 5/8″ wide. The gears advance when finger pressure is applied. The mahogany veneered case is refinished. At some point the veneer was removed from the wooden bezel. The bezel was stained and refinished to match the rest of the case. The bezel has some scrapes and will benefit from a little sanding another coat of stained finish. Hands, dial, lower glass tablet and pendulum are replacements. There is no weight. The dial is new and refinished. I was told that this clock may have been made near the beginning of the Seth Thomas #2 era as early ST #2’s had no seconds dial. The original label is mounted on the thin wooden baffle cover. The weight hangs behind this baffle. Someone drew a pendulum indicator on a separate piece of thin wood mounted below the label. I bought this clock years ago with the intention of restoring it, but just don’t have the time. Please look at the pictures for further details and ask any questions you may have.
