The clock has a paper Roman numeral dial with original hand-decorated corner details and a spiral steel gong strike, producing a classic deep chime. The wooden case retains its original black finish with contrasting inner molding. This clock is in nice cosmetic condition for its age. The exact year of manufacture is unknown, but based on the movement and the clock design, it would have been from the very early 1900s. The clock has a Seth Thomas 120 series movement, which was one of their best movements. The movement has been disassembled, had several bushings installed, washed, reassembled, and runs for the full 8 days and keeps VERY good time. The clock chimes at the half hour and hour.
