Vintage U. S. Navy WW2 Arma Zig-Zag Course Clock by Seth Thomas, Serial Number 37

The clock case is stainless or aluminum (non-magnetic) and the wall bracket is made of bronze. The door to the clock face is glass and Bakelite in construction. The entire clock weighs about 15 pounds and is painted in a navy black coating. Contains original fittings, lights and dials for adjustment and running in the dark. The clock diameter is 7 3/4 inches, back frame is 10 1/4 inches and projects off the wall by 5 inches. The clock comes with a US Navy plaque that was in a bag and tied to the clock when found. Where it was attached is not known. This is an early Zig-Zag Course Clock designed to help allied ships set varying intervals to avoid submarine attack. The clock appears to be an early version that was superseded by later versions to improve function. The serial number 37 is stamped on the back of the clock see photo. The condition is used with normal wear/tear. Please see photos for condition. There is no key and the working condition is unknown. However, there is no damage to the clock or case so a cleaning and oiling will probably get it working, considering the quality of construction. The item “Vintage U. S.
