Up for sale is this very Rare Antique Seth Thomas Pilot House Ships Clock Case with Stand and over 8 diameter Dial. Lots of wear and issues both to the brass and wood. This is a full on restoration project. The case isnt true round near the door hinge, so the dial wont sit in there and the door doesnt close and latch. There maybe some warping to the backboard or maybe its just loosening of the stand as a hole as the back of the case doesnt rest completely flush against it, it pulls a bit away as you go higher. An antique Seth Thomas brass bottom bell ships clock with attached brass bell and key. I believe this dates to circa 1889. It is in very solid working condition. The glass is in suprisingly good condition with no cracks or dings and virtually no scratches. The hinge is solid and can suppport its own weight without risking falling apart. The door closes easily and fits nicely and is not loose. I think the patina on the housing is beautiful. Much of the nickel plating is worn off exposing the bronze underneath. Early Seth Thomas Ships Clock Time & Strike No 10 Movement in Nice Bakelite Case. The clock has some cosmetic scratches and marks, but the Bakelite case is very well-preserved. The dial is approximately 6 in in diameter and is painted metal. Some of the graphics have faded and rubbed over the years. The clock runs strongly during the time I’ve had it, but the strike doesn’t operate. The strike spring is still good in a clock and I don’t know if someone intentionally stopped the strike or not. Of my personal collection. This beauty is quite unusual… It is a beefed up version of the. Regular Seth Thomas ships clock that is heavier. And has a thick bronze screw on bezel that has. Holes around the perimeter. Threaded so I assume just a cool design feature. Or more like they came with a fitted wrench. To tighten and loosen the bezel.
