ANTIQUE SETH THOMAS SCHOOLHOUSE WALL CLOCK. THIS OLD TIME HANGING WALL CLOCK IS SET IN A BEAUTIFUL HINGED OAK CASE THAT LATCHES AT THE BOTTOM. UPON OPENING OF THE CLOCK INNER COMPARTMENT, THE FIRST GENERATION ELECTRICAL CLOCK COMPONENTS ARE VISIBLE SHOWING VINTAGE CLOCK MECHANISM AND THE OLD TIME WIRING WITH FABRIC TYPE WIRE INSULATION, WHICH WAS USED IN THE OLD DAYS. PASTED INSIDE OF THE COMPARTMENT FOR THE CLOCK COMPONENTS IS A “DIRECTIONS FOR SECONDARY” LABEL, LISTED AS SHEET NO. THIS LABEL STATES, AMONG OTHER THINGS, THAT “THIS CLOCK IS WOUND FOR 300 OHMS”. THIS IS BEST LEFT UP TO THE ANTIQUE CLOCK MAKER.

Antique Seth Thomas “schoolhouse” clock. Was acquired with Shell oil logo around face which was removed as not thought to be original to the clock hence the glue spot damage to face. Has key and winds. When upright try’s to run as exemplified by the movement of the minute-hand in subsequent pictures. The pendulum arm has come out as shown in pictures and pendulum weight likely not original. Wood in good to very good condition for age. Needs some work but believe she will run again with little help from experienced clock person.

Behind clock face shows the marked service dates along with the artist/clock makers signature. One or two missing screws in the clock face. Gifted on Oct 2, 1909. Service Dates Noted: 1938, 1977, 1982. Will need to be serviced to work properly.

It runs and strikes at the top of the hour counting off the hours. Has a 8 1/2 inch movement. Case showing average wear for a clock over 100 years old. Dial was replaced with a paper dial. Clock measures 21 1/2 inches tall, 14 1/4 inches wide. It was missing the bezel and glass. I will pack with plenty of insulation to insure safe transit.
