In Thomaston, Connecticut during the early 1900’s. This clock is in a red, wood-grain style Adamantine finish which may have been designed to simulate rosewood. The brass bezel and dial assembly is in nice shape for its age. The paper part of the dial has been replaced but the original brass dial pan remains. This magnificent Pillar and Scroll shelf clock came from an old New England estate, from a collector skilled in antique clock restoration. It has been running for the past month, keeping good time and striking the hour on a large original cast bell. The case is surfaced with figured mahogany veneer and features book matched moldings on the door flat surfaces. The door itself includes its original locking mechanism and the original keyhole escutcheon plate. The color of the case is striking as it has an old finish including some areas with over-varnish.
