Used on US Navy ships during and after World War 2. This clock is in very good condition and running strong keeping excellent time. There are a few scratches on the case and crystal. The dial is dated 1943 and the movement is dated January 1944. The metal shock mount is missing, but the hinged back plate is in very good condition. The clock measures 8 3/8″ at the widest point across the back, the dial is 5 1/2″ dial, and the case is 4 deep. Please look at the pictures, they provide the best description. VINTAGE SETH THOMAS U. NAVY SHIPS CLOCK NO. 25544-E, WWII NICE TIME PIECE.. From a collector estate is this very nice US Navy Ships Clock. I wound it up and it starts right up, I have not checked it for accuracy. The glass is original, the cork seal is all good. Just an amazing piece for any collector! My research says that there is a serial # on the movement that can be sent in to check it’s origin etc. I have not done that but it would be a great project to find out! Hinged front section and adjusted and wound in back. Clock is fitted in a swing left-open bezel. 8-day movement that is wound, set and adjusted through a slotted cover at the rear.
