Beautiful MCM Seth Thomas carriage Mantle Clock. From the pinnacle of well made, attractive, functioning, collectable & attainable clocks.. Kieninger & Obergfell made in West Germany. Transistor, 4 glass brass, skeleton dial, with pendulum. Operates with one C (1.5v) battery. 4 height adjustable feet for leveling. This specimen was acquired from the Division of Time corp in Norcross, GA. It has a few light scratches, as well as small dark spots consistent with time and use. Vintage Seth Thomas skeleton clock in very nice condition. This same exact mechanism is used in Kundo clocks. Very high quality German construction. I installed 2 new glass panels on the sides as the originals were damaged. Of course, one developed a small hairline crack when I was installing it–see photo. If this crack grows in the future, your local picture frame store can cut a new glass piece for a few dollars. Very cheap and easy. Overall a beautiful piece. Description: 1909 Ornate Seth Thomas Brass & Glass Crystal Regulator Clock with alarm. Includes Key and Pendulum. Features winding points for the movement, alarm, and pendulum height/speed adjustment. Clock does not wind. Measurements: 6 1/2″ x 8″ x 16 Weight:13 lb. Condition: Good antique, used, as found condition. Some tarnishing to the brass, particularly on the top side and the corner ornaments. The original pin for the hands has been replaced by a small nail. Alarm spring winds but main spring does not. Dial is metal, and two rings drawn around time track with dots for minute marks. Early features of dial are tapered numerals 3, 4, and 8, with small winding holes (8.2 mm). Movement type 1.243 (the earliest type). Measures: Height 25-7/8″, width 15-5/8″, depth 4-3/8. The case has nicks, chips, scratches in the veneer and wood back.
