I have no idea how these things work so I very well could be doing something wrong to get it to stay running but don’t want to break anything so will leave it up to the professionals. I have done a lot of research and couldn’t find one of these with a alarm function. I recently talked with a clock repair guy, he assured me all it needs is a cleaning of the gears and such.

I picked this up some time ago I believe from upstate New York. I liked the overall look and the fact it is a Seth Thomas which along with Ansonia are always desirable and it is very original. It as the additional alarm with the half hour strike and the proper number on the hour plus it has very low wear on the movement bushings.
