It measures 26 3/4″ tall x 14 3/4″ wide x 5 deep and dates to about the 1880’s. The condition is very good. It has an original Seth Thomas label on the inside of the door and the original door glass. Antique 1800’s Victorian Seth Thomas Calendar Parlor Clock. The clock has been running continuously for a week. There is some time drift so some adjustment is needed. I don’t know if the day calendar feature is working properly. I looked at it one day and then it moved a number of days. Not sure how it works. The clock face has a lot of flaking. Inherited from my Father in 1996. This clock had been in my family for as long as I can remember. My father collected clocks and also could fix most any clock. Unfortunately I did not inherit this talent. If you know about these Fashion Clocks, you know the calendar mechanism is very, very touchy. Seth Thomas “Parlor Calendar #5″ model with double 8 dials. The walnut veneered case is clean with a few small dents (see photos) and measures 20″ x 12 1/2″ at base x 5 1/4 at the base. The original backboard indicates date of manufacture as April 1884. The movement is stamped with the maker’s name; date of last service is unknown but it is clear it could use a cleaning- the time side works well – the calendar advances daily as it should – the strike side runs if pressure placed on a lower wheel.
