An old Seth Thomas calendar clock. The movement has been oiled and is in good running condition. I don’t think the case has been stripped, but it looks like someone clean, revived the finish sometime ago. The dial paint has some cracking, scratches, marks, etc. There is missing paint by the 25 and 30. There is some glazing missing around the inside of the bezel. The hinge has been soldered and has a little play in it. The bezel and calendar hand has been painted gold. Measures 23 3/4” tall and 16” wide. A key is included. Here we have a nice Seth Thomas Double Dial Calendar Clock, with 8 Day Movement. I believe it the parlor style? The case is homemade, but looks to be well built out of solid wood. I think the clock and calendar movements are original… But Im not 100% sure. It currently keeps good time and runs smooth with a nice even tic (or beat) on a level surface. Comes with a new key and pendulum. It also features a nice bell chime that counts every hour. The calendar movement will need adjusting. A very nice and authentic example of an early Plymouth Hallow, CT. This Large, Grand, Working, Weight driven, Calendar clock measures 40 x 20 x 7. The clock face measures 12 and the calendar measures 14 inches. This is a Seth Thomas Double Dial Calendar Estate 1876 Clock. There are several minute cracks in the Rosewood Veneer, but they dont take away from the beautiful craftsmanship of this antique.
