Antique TWO COLUMN SETH THOMAS ADAMANTINE Black Mantle Clock WORKING EXCELLENT. Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantle or Shelf Clock. The georgeous wood case gives a fine Victorian feel with it’s faux marbling, two column front and wonderful dial that features arabic numerals. The clock has decorative feet and the columns have copper capitals and the lion heads on each side also have a copper sheen. All original with pendulum & key. Its a Happy running Clock! Wood case with Faux Marble Adamantine Trims. Cathedral Gong Strike on the hour. Nice sounding gong, listen to video. Bell Strike on the half hours. A great looking Seth Thomas mantle clock, looks to be made from black slate or a type of black stone with faux marble highlights. The clock is 12″ H x 15 3/4″ wide x 6 1/2 deep. The clock is a heavy 27lbs.

Manufactured by Seth Thomas of Thomaston, Connecticut in March of 1893, this is a very nice condition and fully operating example of their classic Black Mantel Clock series, produced in the late 1800’s with their newly adopted cabinet finish process using new materials called Marbeline and Adamantine (soon to both be collectively known as Adamantine), and later destined to become a focal trait sought by many collectors.
