An antique Seth Thomas brass bottom bell ships clock with attached brass bell and key. I believe this dates to circa 1889. It is in very solid working condition. The glass is in suprisingly good condition with no cracks or dings and virtually no scratches. The hinge is solid and can suppport its own weight without risking falling apart. The door closes easily and fits nicely and is not loose. I think the patina on the housing is beautiful. Much of the nickel plating is worn off exposing the bronze underneath. Of my personal collection. This beauty is quite unusual… It is a beefed up version of the. Regular Seth Thomas ships clock that is heavier. And has a thick bronze screw on bezel that has. Holes around the perimeter. Threaded so I assume just a cool design feature. Or more like they came with a fitted wrench. To tighten and loosen the bezel. This clock is running and sounding the watch bells. The brass case is nice and the wood is too. Quite heavy at 10lbs. The silvered dial is 5″ in diameter with the wooden mount at 11″ in diameter.
