Seth Thomas movement in brass. (only a few hundred were made). Minor superficial scratches barely visibles in front acrylic. It is in working, running condition but need clean service. Back shows GE logo, and a stamped serial number in white. Very good condition, no cracks in bakelite, no key. Original cardboard dial slight wear and tear visible on photos. 26 x 8.5 cms. World War II vintage bakelite ships deck clock made for the U. Navy by the Seth Thomas clock company. The black dial is marked SETH THOMAS U. NAVY 58099 E in the center, then Made In U. This clock has a classic flared ships clock bezel which hinges open on the right secured with a thumb screw closing Currently working well and although the key is missing it can be wound up using a number 6 key which was used to test it. This is a Seth Thomas 6 diameter Navy Marine deck clock in the original Bakelite case. Clock displays white Arabic numeral 12 hour markers inside the chapter ring plus separate seconds dial. The clock is signed below center arbor and centered below an “N” inside of a circle (Naval Observatory cartouche) with Observatory number 36014, 1942. Outside the chapter ring below the 6 is marked Made By Seth Thomas In US. Clocks steel hands appear to be in original condition and with original white painted finish.
