This Seth Thomas mantle clock has just been serviced and repaired by our clock maker. It is an 8 day clock with an Adamantine finish. These finishes were introduced in the late 1800’s by applying celluloid over wood that could then be in different colors and finishes. The clock comes with several instructions from our clock maker for adjusting the time and when to wind. It chimes on the hour and the half hour. 1880 Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantle Clock No Key. This does appear to run when wound. The pendulum works as I believe it should. The clock chimes at 30 minutes as opposed to at the top of the hour, which will likely need adjusted.
