This is one of Seth Thomas’s black mantels with the Adamantine finish. Cosmetically, the clock looks really good with a smooth glossy finish and original wash on the embellishments. The dial is nice, but a little faded on the numbers. The glass is a little shakey in the bezel, but that seems to be a design flaw more than anything. There’s a good label on the rear and the clock seems to retain most of its original parts. Seth Thomas Chime Adamantine RosewoodMantle Clock. This clock was made by The Seth Thomas Clock Company of Thomaston, Connecticut. This is a beautiful brownish red Adamantine (Rosewood looking) that is in great condition. Seth Thomas bought the rights to use Adamantine in 1881. It is made of a celluloid veneer that is glued onto the wood. Perfect porcelain 5 dial that has fancy Arabic numerals in black. The dial has Seth Thomas, Slow/Fast adjuster, Chimes on the hour and 1/2 hour. With Seth Thomas spade hands. Dimensions are Height 10.25″, Width 15.25″, Depth 7, and Weight 7 lbs.

This has minor wear from age and use. It stands about 11″ by 8.5″ by 5.5. It has a few chips on the corners. Please see pictures for condition.
