Seth Thomas 297 Adamantine Mantel Clock 2 Column Red Black Restored No Movement

Vintage Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantel Clock No. 297 – Item number 0728. Finished in Red and Black Adamantine buffed to a mirror finish. 1 column – Ornate bezel and dial – Lion heads on sides – White and black inlay finish. All matching hardware – Large ornate feet – Original Seth Thomas labels. Paper dial has been replaced with new identical copy. All hardware is original to the piece. Clock case has not been altered in any way from the original. Case is ready to accept a mechanical movement (alignment will be necessary). Or, if you prefer, a quartz chiming movement. Clock does not have a manufacture month/date visible but generally made from 1890’s to 1920’s. Orient clearly visible on the bottom. Clock bezel glass has some character chipping around the outside but is the original glass. You can change if you prefer but does add an aged look. Clock has been completely dis-assembled, cleaned of all tobacco and residue, buffed and polished, re-assembled. While the case is in excellent condition, there are flaws to the adamantine veneer – It is not perfect after 130 years. Very elegant piece ready for a movement.
