This is a beautiful antique Seth Thomas 8-Day Mantel/Shelf Clock. It is a crystal Regulator clock. I think the Model is Empire or Empire 301. The face is marked “Seth Thomas”. On the back of the clock works is marked’Made in US America. The double barrel pendulum is not filled with mercury. The clock in excellent vintage condition, i. T runs and keeps time nicely, and chimes beautifully. The brass case is in good antique condition, no chips, no cracks, no damage. The four beveled glass panels are in good condition. Seth Thomas Mantle Clock Model 124 A with Mayland movement, 5 hammer Westminster chime. Runs and strikes reliably, comes with what appears to be original key and pendulum. Doric arch case with marquetry. Case is good, light wear marks the worst of which is near the 8 o’clock pos. Bezel and face showing signs of light wear (pics). Movement appears tolerably clean but not pristine. Clock runs well all three springs are ok , can be very slightly discordant when chiming. I have literally overhauled 20 or 30 of these specific movements. I think I can faithfully say that I completely understand the nuances of this particular movement probably more than most anyone else other than Seth Thomas himself.
