Sorry for the crummy pics, I could barely move the thing. I was told this came out of a bank in Freehold, NJ. Even though its missing the crown, its still 70 tall as it stands. Other than the crown, it looks pretty complete, but I cant be sure because I never had anything like this. No weight looks to be present. The finish is alligatored, and the paint is peeling on the dial. I have no way of knowing whether it works. I do have two keys, one for winding and one for the door. Seth Thomas Prospect No. Fully and properly overhauled, serviced and tested No. 89 Seth Thomas Time and Strike movement. The movement appears to be original to the case. Case finish is original with some alligatoring which attests to the clocks true age. Nice contrasting light wood marquetery against brown mahogany finish. It has a date stamp on the bottom of the case which indicates this example was manufactured in January of 1917. Pendulum Bob and winding keys are appropriate replacements. This item for sale is a antique Seth Thomas Carriage Clock standing 11 tall. It still works, may need some light adjustments. The clock is not perfect, has some wear on finish, I believe it is brass frame, a couple of the glass panels have some damage in corners. I saw damage on the back panel and one side but there may be minor defects not mentioned. So please check all photos carefully. The clock is in good shape overall. This Seth Thomas School House / Office clock dates to 1920. This clock was made in the United States of America. Movement has been completely overhauled and is in working condition. Movement taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned, repairs made as needed, new springs installed, lubricated and tested. Includes key and pendulum. Cabinet is oak and has been refinished.
