This is an antique 30 Day Weighted Driven Clock. The wood on clock is in good shape. Normal dings for its age. The glass on front good. The designs on bottom of glass. Black on glass with gold trim and flowers in the middle. There is a spot where paint wore off on one flower. At the bottom of glass is an opening where you can look in and see pendulum moving. Seth Thomas “Parlor Calendar #5″ model with double 8 dials. The walnut veneered case is clean with a few small dents (see photos) and measures 20″ x 12 1/2″ at base x 5 1/4 at the base. The original backboard indicates date of manufacture as April 1884. The movement is stamped with the maker’s name; date of last service is unknown but it is clear it could use a cleaning- the time side works well – the calendar advances daily as it should – the strike side runs if pressure placed on a lower wheel. Seth Thomas Ogee Shelf Clock w Original Reverse Painting on Glass, 1800’s Reverse glass painting of Roman columns scene on the bottom window. Ogee case, made in possibly Plymouth Hollow, tablet glass puttied in, missing top tablet glass. Dial is metal, and two rings drawn around time track with dots for minute marks. The case has some nicks, chips, scratches in the veneer and wood back. The door opens with no problems, the putty around the windows is old.
