Seth Thomas Clock Company, a renowned American clockmaker. Produced around the 1880s to early 1900s. The “Adamantine” finish is a durable, early plastic veneer (celluloid) applied over a wood case to mimic the look of materials like marble or mahogany. Typically an eight-day, mechanical movement that strikes the hours on a gong and the half-hours on a bell. Features a decorative, ornate brass or painted celluloid dial with black Arabic numerals.

This clock features a solid brass 8-day movement stamped. Thomas – Plymouth, Conn. A hallmark of authentic 19th-century American clockmaking. The clock has a paper Roman numeral dial with original hand-decorated corner details and a spiral steel gong strike, producing a classic deep chime.
