Presented for your consideration is this interesting antique wall clock. The art deco clock has a oak case with a square front and rounded top and bottom. The large metal, square face of the clock is painted white with large Arabic numerals in black. The bottom edge of the face is marked with Made in U. ” and in the center it is marked with “Seth Thomas. The dial is completed with large hands, making the clock very easy to read from a distance. Made by Seth Thomas out of Plymouth Conn. USA in the late 1800’s. 25″ tall, 14 7/8″ wide, and 4 1/2 deep. Looks to be walnut but please see pictures to be sure. Front glass panes are in good shape with no cracks. The top glass has that old wavy appearance to it. Good antique patina throughout. The outside cabinet has small scratches etc. The face has patina. The reverse paint is chipping in areas. No key or bob. The strings and hooks are still present. PLEASE AS QUESTIONS IF NEEDED. I bought it at an estate sale and I don’t know much about clocks but I’ll tell you what I do know. It does wind when I turn it (in other words, the key is the right size). When I push the pendulum, it works just a little and then slows down and stops. One time it actually ran for 10 minutes but then stopped. The pendulum looks great. On the clockwork lower right is the number “4½” which I’ve read is the pendulum length. On the clockwork is also “Made in USAmerica” and the Seth Thomas Logo. Antique Seth Thomas Mantle Shelf Clock Tambour Original in very nice condition. This does have a couple of dings and some tiny white paint specks will pop off with a little effort and I posted close ups of these. Measures 20-5/8 inches across the bottom X 9-1/4 inches tall X 6 inches deep / wide across the bottom. This antique clock is in very good condition. It has a few cracks, one on the back and one on the side, not effecting the works. It has a Seth Thomas pendulum movement and I believe it is all original and comes with the key. It is 13″ tall, 9″ wide and 5′ thick. It chimes once on the half hour and strikes the time on the hour. It has not been serviced in over 10 years so getting it serviced will fix this problem. It runs for a while and stops at 45 past the hour.
