Manufactured by Seth Thomas of Thomaston, Connecticut in March of 1893, this is a very nice condition and fully operating example of their classic Black Mantel Clock series, produced in the late 1800’s with their newly adopted cabinet finish process using new materials called Marbeline and Adamantine (soon to both be collectively known as Adamantine), and later destined to become a focal trait sought by many collectors. Rare antique 1850’S Seth Thomas 5 bells chime tall case grandfather clock. The 5 bells movement with marked chimes on the quarter hour and strikes on the hours. High 82″, width 19″, depth 11. The top door of cherry case is a small repaired (#18,19), otherwise is in good condition with age wear. See all photos for details. The cherry case, pendulum and weights are unoriginal parts. Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine Faux Marble Lions Head Claw Foot Clock. This listing is for an antique Seth Thomas clock. I’ve never seen another single pillar model in this color / design.
