1909 Seth Thomas 12 Drop Octagon Schoolhouse Time Clock w/ Pendulum & Key. 12 Drop Octagon Schoolhouse Time Clock. Includes Winding Key and Pendulum. Clock face measures 12 inches. 24″ x 16″ x 4.5 (HLW). Easily hangs on the wall with the attached large round hook. Schoolhouse style, only tells time, does not chime. Behind clock face shows the marked service dates along with the artist/clock makers signature. One or two missing screws in the clock face. Gifted on Oct 2, 1909. Service Dates Noted: 1938, 1977, 1982. Will need to be serviced to work properly.

Service and ownership history unknown. Repair and service needed if clock is to be used for timekeeping. Suspected broken mainspring as it slips when wound and clock will not run. Bezel has waves and bends in it. Chromed finish is pitted, rusted, chipped. Ask for more photos if needed.

Came from a local estate. DOES NOT have the key. 6″ wide at the widest point and almost 4″ deep. Face is silver colored but I think the black paint is gone as there is a little bit of it near the 1 and 2. Normal usage wear, some light paint chips here and there, glass is a little dirty.

Clock and bell and barometer keeping accurate time there is very minimal tarnish on the brass.

Cosmetically the set is very good with no noticeable issues. There is a dedication plate that appears to be glued to the cradle. The blame is dated 1966 and refers to a Baltimore harbor master. Mechanically, the clock was wound and ticked. When the hands were cycled it chimed. It wasn’t tested for accuracy or run duration. It a nice clock set in great shape nand it’s priced to sell so don’t miss it.
