Seth Thomas Antique Tambour Mantel Clock – c. This classic American tambour design features a domed wooden case, decorative inlaid detail, original brass side sound grilles, and a signed enamel dial. The clock is fitted with a high-quality 8-day mechanical movement, recently serviced and cleaned. It runs smoothly, keeps good time, and strikes the hours clearly on a gong, with the correct strike count throughout all twelve hours. The wooden case remains structurally sound and displays its original proportions and detailing. At some point in the late 20th century the case was over-stained; this has now been carefully cleaned, stabilised, and finished with wax, resulting in an attractive, even tone with honest age-related patina. There is a small section of moulding missing to the rear edge of the case. This does not affect function, stability, or the front-facing appearance and is reflected in the price.
