Antique Circa 1905 Henry S. Prentiss Clock Improvement Company Gallery Wall Clock – LADDER MOVEMENT – RARITY. The ladder movement was patented by Henry in 1901 and is the only company to ever had made this movement. Key – Not Present. Movement – Marked Prentiss With Pat # – Time Only – 30 Day – Prior owner cleaned the movement about a year ago, but in the process he broke the suspension spring (which is an easy fix) but a new suspension spring will need to be put in for proper operation. Dial – Zinc metal with original paper roman numeral dial – is missing the small screw nut the secures the hands. Hands – Original – Steel. Operating condition – I have many clocks to test and limited time to do so – Tested – Prior owner was a clocksmith for many years and he ran this clock off and on during the last 15 years he has owned it, he was wanting to clean the movement which he did but in the process he broke the suspension spring and with so many clocks and getting up there in age he never got around to getting a new spring so this clock can be fixed.
