Antique 8 Columns Adamantine Seth Thomas Mantle Clock With Key

This listing consists of an Antique 8 Column Adamantine Mantle Clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. The “almost complete” label on the back of the clock says the patent on this particular clock was September 7, 1880. It also gives directions on how to regulate the clock and to take care of the finish, however the bottom portion of the label has been worn off. There is great detail in the columns, front feet and lion’s heads on the sides. The gold, ornate clock face says “Seth Thomas” and Manufactured in the United States of America. The rectangle door on the back of the clock to the inner chamber has the instruction label on it. The glass cover to the clock faceplate is virtually without scratches. It includes a key and the original pendulum. The clock stands 11 1/4inches tall, is 15 1/2 inches long and 7 inches wide. On the clock mechanism inside the case are the letters “ST” for Seth Thomas and Made in U. ” There are also three characters on the bottom, left corner of the mechanism that reads “89 C which leads me to believe it was manufactured in March (C, the 3rd letter of the alphabet representing the 3rd month) 89 the year it was manufactured – 1889.
