Antique 1800s Seth Thomas Gothic/Steeple Clock

VERY RARE: Antique Gothic Revival “Sharp Gothic” steeple mantel clock. These distinctive shelf clocks were highly popular in the United States from the mid to late 19th century. To find a clock like this in such good condition is a rare find. The clock features a central gabled point flanked by two distinct side pillars, resembling a church spire or steeple. It is typically crafted from mahogany or rosewood veneer. The Dial & Movement. It uses a traditional painted dial with Roman numerals and feature dual winding arbors on the lower section of the face. This indicates a mechanical spring driven, key wind mechanism 30 hour or commonly called a 1 day. The movement has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted keeping time and chiming. The Lower Door Glass. The lower portion of the door features a circular design showcasing a vibrant reverse painted hummingbird medallion surrounded by a dark teal or blue decorative background. That does not mean the clock doesn’t work, just needs to be put back in beat. There are many good videos on YouTube showing how to do this.
