Up for sale is a stunning Seth Thomas Adamantine mantle clock in the highly sought-after Burl Walnut marbled brown finish. This patented celluloid veneer replicates the rich grain of burl wood and has maintained its deep luster for over a century. Features classic architectural styling with ornate lion head side handles and decorative pillars. Movement: Original Seth Thomas 89C movement. Timekeeping: The clock is in running condition and keeps time well. Strike Function: 8-day time and strike mechanism. Note on Strike: When fully wound, the strike side runs continuously. Once the tension settles, it strikes the hour and half-hour correctly. This is a common adjustment issue often solved by a professional cleaning or a minor lever tweak. Key/Pendulum: Includes the original pendulum. No key is included, but it has been tested with a Size #5 key. Exterior & Structural Condition. Case: The Burl Walnut finish is in excellent antique condition with beautiful marbling. Hinge Repair Needed: The front brass bezel hinge is broken and requires repair (please see close-up photos). Currently, the bezel does not stay properly aligned/attached at the hinge point. Hardware: The brass-tone feet and lion handles show a lovely, authentic aged patina.
