We have a Antique Seth Thomas Red Adamantine 8 Day Mantle Clock Early 1900’s Runs. Description Here is a nice condition “Adamantine” finish 8 day time and strike shelf clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. In Thomaston, Connecticut during the early 1900’s. This clock is in a red woodgrain style Adamantine finish which may have been designed to simulate rosewood or simply red marble. The brass bezel and dial assembly is in nice shape for its age. The celluloid dial is worn and stained giving it a genuinely aged appearance. It is a quality movement that, if properly maintained, should last many lifetimes. The “Adamantine” finish, which is a patented laminate finish from the late 1800’s, is in good shape for its age. Still, you may notice a little shrinkage at the corners and edges as well as a few minor dings, scuffs or touch-ups, which is the nature of the Adamantine finish, but all in all the condition of this cabinet is very nice. It is complete with a key and the original “boy on a fence” pendulum and is ready to place up on the. The measurements are 8 3/8″ wide x 11″ high x 5 1/2 deep.
