Antique Seth Thomas Whitby Fully and properly Restored In Museum Condition
This a fully and properly restored Seth Thomas “Whitby” model clock from 1913 that is in Beautiful like new condition and has been fully restored. The most beautiful original mahogany cabinet with gold inlayed marquetry has been thoroughly cleaned, polished and waxed to it’s original luster and presents overall as it did over a century ago and has virtually no flaws. Please see all of the high resolution photos. The original enameled porcelain dial is in like new condition and has no noticeable flaws and is the perfect window to this classic and elegant antique clock. The brass bezel with thick beveled glass has been thoroughly cleaned and polished and presents as new, the bezel door closes as it did when new. The original hour and minute hands have been reblued and complete this classic and beautiful face of the clock. The original Seth Thomas 48 R fine movement has been completely disassembled and all parts cleaned ultrasonically and hand polished. The wheel pivots polished and pinions cleaned and 8 bushings have been properly installed, the movement then properly reassembled adjusted and oiled. It has been keeping excellent time for several weeks. The clock chimes a pleasant single strike on the half hour and a full cathedral gong on the hour. It measures 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide by 6” deep. A most splendid functional time piece that could be proudly displayed and enjoyed in any room in your home for generations to come. This Seth Thomas Whitby model can be found in Tran Duy Ly’s book on Seth Thomas clocks (pictured) as it appeared in their 1913 catalog. This is an 8 day clock that needs to be wound on both sides weekly with the included 2 sided key, small end is for fast/slow adjustment through the front of dial.
