117C – Circa 1935. For offered is this Seth Thomas unlisted Chime No. 117C that was produced around the year of 1935. Since this clock is unlisted along with the 117W the only thing we have to go by is the similar model style and dial as the Medbury AKA Chime No. 56 and the style of movement as well. The finish is original and has not been altered, and would look great above your fireplace mantel or on top of a shelf. The clock has no man made character marks which the pictures will show. This clock has a strong, smooth running rebuilt 124 movement that has been keeping excellent time for the past few weeks. All the best features are on this model like a beautiful scalloped silvered dial with hardly any wear and black Arabic numbers which can be read from a distance. Fancy Seth Thomas signature hollow diamond shaped hour and minute hands. A nice solid pattern with gold pin stripe below the dial and raised molded ends give this clock lines that would blend in with any décor. No scratches or chips are in the original convex glass. The golden original finish of the brass bezel and the back door opens and closes properly as they should. The best sounding ST stamped chime rods are in this model which you can see and hear each quarter hour followed by the full. Chime and hour strike on the video in this listing. The original pendulum bob and a proper size ST stamped 2-sided key come with the clock. A full model label on the bottom with set up instructions on the inside of the back door, makes this a very desirable and highly sought after mantel clock. Clean bezel, parts and chime rods by hand. Clean the outside of the clock by hand with mild cleaners as well as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand. Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each quarter-hour and hour. Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed while the clock is level to ensure accuracy for many generations. Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come.
