Seth Thomas Antique City Series Wales Model Mantel Mantle Clock Circa-1904

SETH THOMAS CITY SERIES WALES – 1904. A steal when you see other listings asking for hundreds more doing nothing to the clock besides listing it. This clock has a pleasant chime on its Cathedral bell metal gong counting the hours and half-hour. Just a beautiful tone that is pleasing to the ear. The design of this clock is esthetically pleasing to the eye. The step down top transitioning to quarter round molding along the front and sides with dental accents and router front edges then transitions to the curved to square base allows this model clock to go with any of your room’s décor. The Mahogany case has little to no man made character marks in it and a well done repair was made in the top left corner which can be seen in the pictures. The finish is original and has been cleaned but not altered. The grains in the top has a great marble look to it. The original 5 inch white porcelain dial is in excellent condition with a hardly noticeable chip at the winding hole by the 7. The black Arabic numbers and the signature Seth Thomas spade shaped hour and minute hands give this clock a classy look and the numbers can be read from a distance. The thick beveled glass has a scratch in it and can hardly be seen in the close up picture. The machined clasp polished brass French sash has been cleaned to preserve the original antique brass finish. Both the front and the back doors open and close properly as they should. Original bob with an original Seth Thomas 2-sided key comes with the clock. A close up of the small end of the key is provided and does not detour from proper function of the F S adjustment. This clock features a half-hour strike rebuilt 48 R fine round 8-day movement with polished brass plates that strikes once on the half-hour and actual number of strikes on the top of each hour on a Cathedral bell metal gong. This can be seen and heard on the video player that will be provided in the pictures section second one in. Keep in mind that the recording is very close. This clock will give years of enjoyment to you and your family and many years of enjoyment to pass on for your generations to come. Every aspect of this clock is fully functional. Disassemble the entire clock and movement myself completely. Install Seth Thomas parts ONLY on the movement as needed. All worn pivot holes with Bergeon bronze bushings as needed. Clean the entire movement and mainsprings ultrasonically. Clean the original dial being careful not to alter its original condition. This dial is original and has not been altered. Clean the bezel, parts and gong by hand. Clean the inside of the clock as well as the outside by hand with mild cleaners being careful not to alter the original finish and apply a coat of wax by hand. Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each hour and half-hour. Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed while the clock is level to ensure accuracy for many generations. Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come. Smoke free, pet free home.
